Just hitting the shelves about now is Decembers issue of VolksWorld magazine featuring this rather tidy bus I shot earlier this year when it was nice, warm and sunny! Restored by the chaps over at Wolfsburgh VWs this truly was a fantastic example of a 23 window Deluxe Microbus…
Been shooting a load of buses lately so should get round to posting those soon. The brief for this metallic green 1969 Californian VW Bay Window was ‘DISCO’ ! So with the old railway work shop location booked, crazy fogger smoke machine and LED lenser light on board we were set to see what would happen…

Shooting on the beach is a nightmare for many reasons but I won’t go into that, all I will say is stay away from the wet shiny stuff where you think you’d get nice reflections!! I don’t own a bus but WANT one, this is very much how I see mine would be (well maybe a bit more patina’d). Great bus Dave and many thanks for all your help on the day!

My job is becoming more and more difficult to handle, it seems every time I photograph a cover worthy dub I want one!! Here’s no exception, a delicious 1962 Bug that I shot recently for VolksWorld magazine and probably my favourite shoot to date. I’d been wanting to use this burning wire wool technique for a while now so when this came through I knew the House Of Kolor Cocoa Pearl paint job would be a great candidate for the job. I think the limited colour palette tied it all together really well to make a very complimentary feature…
